Yes, otherwise what is the point? The ongoing process is to resolve all the past karmas, to improve things here. So that is what is going on. As dust and dirt are removed the karmic clock ticks more quickly, leading to faster and faster resolutions for each of us. Less tamas, more rajas.
An excellent opportunity, though it can also be a set of challenges as everything is definitely moving faster, and exposed to the light of truth. A big job to integrate the entire planet, so it takes a little time.
