Deer and a Jackrabbit

From my gamecams this morning. The deer are coming close to the house now. Here are three pictures. Enjoy!

  1. Wow they are so beautiful! The deer are coming close to the house here as well!
I remember one encounter with a deer one night years ago…
It was a warm Sommer night, i was in my bed and the window was open. I heard a noise outside, as if someone or something was eating something, hehe. So i took a battery(flashlight) and i went out, barefoot and only in my underwear😊. I walked around the corner and i pointed the battery at the deer’s eyes. She didn’t move and i came close to her. I was thinking🤔, should i touch her nose or not? I decided not to, becose i didn’t want to scare her. So i made some noise and she walked away.
I enjoy your pictures becose it reminds me so much of the place i live. It’s forrest around and the house is further away from the village. So the encounters with wild animals are common.
    All the best!

  2. P.s. What are those two statues behind the deer? I couldn’t see properly on my phone…

  3. Hi Bojan,
Thank you! What a wonderful story! Yes we see the deer looking in our windows sometimes. Such magical creatures. You are so very fortunate to live in nature. I did as a child so it is wonderful to be able to do so again. Today I walked down to the pond and was taking pictures of the red-winged blackbirds. They know me now and were clamoring to have their pictures taken, singing and showing off. I will post the pictures soon.
    All the best!

  4. Ah yes – They are silver reindeer decorations for Christmas. One is a buck and the other a doe. They used to have colored lights but they no longer light, so I unplugged them and set them in the yard because I like our local deer, though I doubt they recognize them… 🙂 Do you ever take pictures of the animals there?

  5. No i don’t. Usualy when they come in the garden i don’t have a phone with me. The easiest way would be to take pictures of the birds becose they are always around. I took many pictures of my cat Pika while she was still alive…
