Maharishi’s Birthday Today – January 12th

January sunrise – Paradise, California

Today, January 12th, is Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s birthday. I have gained so much since learning the Transcendental Meditation technique in November of 1975, spread globally by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. It is so much more than a ‘relaxation technique verified by science’!

Maharishi often spoken of TM in that way, to create a bridge between cosmic life as recorded in the Vedas, and the materialistic scientific thought of the west. He also quietly ignited a revolution, far more profound than any that have overthrown regimes, or even conquered entire regions of the earth.

Examining the compressed sort of pancaked view that life takes on in waking state – much more breadth than depth – there is only one avenue for revolution within that incomplete awareness, that of violence – more animal than human, destroying our potential instead of nourishing it.

Maharishi’s genius was to provide a technique that as easily as sitting down provides any thinking mind to go actively inward, unlocking the ignored and unknown areas of consciousness that complete us. This has had huge global effects to date, most importantly by providing a greater number of solutions to any problem regardless of size, peacefully.

None of these myriad solutions leading to a helpful way of life needed to be advanced personally by Maharishi once the momentum was set by the TM technique, being practiced by many world-wide.

I thank Him deeply and recognize Him as the Avatar of our age, reigniting the divine light within each of us that we can each stand up empowered and bring about a new world.

Happy Birthday Maharishi, and Thank You from the bottom of my heart!

it shows up in the pictures...I am a US citizen (born in California), though spent my childhood through high school living primarily in SE Asia, giving me a deep view of both East and West. I began TM at 21 and the TM-Sidhis at 26. I was visited by Guru Dev at 39. The rest is history. :-)
