First World Peace and Now Equality

A cloud figure in the sky headed North

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi worked for fifty years to spread transcendental meditation in the world, to bring about world peace. He recognized that human beings under great stress will tend to see each other as enemies, precluding any efforts for global cooperation.

By eliminating stress, we not only empower ourselves, but also change our perception of others, from mistrust and anticipated misery, to shared goals and future promise. It is a subtle thing, clearing our inner atmosphere, accepting our climate change within, eliminating fear, and providing access to the full range of awareness for everyone. This transcends existing economic, religious, and political systems, trading such rigidity for fresh solutions, built once again on our rediscovered ideals vs. scrapping for resources like animals must.

Peace is well at hand. Much of the battlefield has been moved to a less harmful medium, global communication; social media. Although negative tendencies, even evil, can be magnified through this new tool, any topic must also expose itself through sharing, bringing light to whatever purposes are underway. The net result is more openness, and gradually, less violence.

Even heads of state can forcefully extend their brand now with nothing more than a keyboard. Policies can be formed and transformed overnight. All of us have some sense now in our tailored cacophony of personal media, of the world’s thoughts, and of our reactions to this multi-dimensional planetary canvas. We all have greater awareness of our world.

This global transformation occurs just as if a single person sits down with their mantra, and begins meditation, in… very… slow… motion. Some initial calming, and next some stress released, integrating all of the diversity in the world with the result of bringing peace and prosperity to everyone.

Now that the world has settled down, at least to the point where economic agreements are nearly always favored over war, the next big nut to crack is inequality. Just as the momentum for world peace has come about in an organic way, so does equality now do the same. All the diversity of cultures and people are becoming known, being brought to light, clamoring for acceptance, safety and prosperity.

All of these needs and issues are satisfied through transcendence, the ongoing recognition within each of us that we are all one, and what we do to ourselves and each other, we do to all. Of course such recognition comes gradually into the mass consciousness, by fits and starts as all new global initiatives do, finding light where it does and eventually spreading without resistance.

In the waking state of duality, power struggles, and scarcity, conflict is the sole means of resolution. However by gradually opening us up to our full potential, we find ourselves willingly turning away from conflict, instead exploring the endless ways to transform our lives and those around us, pole to pole, into our birthright, Brahman, full enlightenment.

By simply unlocking our potential and illuminating our full capabilities, we no longer have to resort to dehumanizing actions to seek our happiness. Instead we can just be ourselves, ever fulfilled, and deeply satisfying ourselves by helping others.

With our feet on the ground, purified, we reach up and gain the grateful and critical assistance of divinity, dissolving all problems. Regardless of the systems and leaders now in place, when we act with the full range of our awareness, both peace and equality move from the realm of utopian fantasy, into the world we now inhabit. It is inevitable.

it shows up in the pictures...I am a US citizen (born in California), though spent my childhood through high school living primarily in SE Asia, giving me a deep view of both East and West. I began TM at 21 and the TM-Sidhis at 26. I was visited by Guru Dev at 39. The rest is history. :-)
